This International Women’s Day, Brixton Topcats is bringing its women back home.
On Sunday 8th March, the club will host a special Celebration Game Day dedicated to honouring the women who have shaped, supported, and carried the Topcats legacy forward. The event brings together female alumni, current players, and women who have passed through the programme as players or coaches for an afternoon of basketball, connection, and celebration.

Taking place at Brixton Recreation Centre from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, the day is designed to be relaxed, inclusive, and rooted in community rather than competition. Mixed scrimmage games will see alumni and current players sharing the court, creating moments of nostalgia while celebrating the present and future of women at the club.
Throughout the afternoon, there will be music, raffles, prize giveaways, and club merchandise available, creating an atmosphere that reflects the energy and spirit of the Brixton Topcats family. More than just basketball, the event is about reconnecting, giving back, and recognising the impact women have had on the club both on and off the court.
The cost to play is £5 per person, with all proceeds going directly back into the club’s girls’ programme, helping to support and develop the next generation of players.
This Celebration Game Day is not about winning or losing. It is about honouring the women who built the culture, celebrating those who continue to carry it forward, and reinforcing the values of legacy, unity, and empowerment that define Brixton Topcats.
