Yesterday evening was a sad time for us all here at the Topcats family. As we closed our doors again for the second time this year.
As you are all aware, on Saturday 31st October the Prime Minister announced England would be going into a second lockdown from today. This means most of the original lockdown rules are now back in force. The restrictions will last through the month until December 2nd, although it is unclear whether this will be extended by the Government and what local restrictions (Venue access etc) will be in place when the country returns to the three-tier alert system.
I have now had confirmation from Brixton Recreation Centre and they intend to reopen again on Wednesday 2nd December, so training sessions will commence again from this date at present.
This also means we have now regressed to Level 4 of Basketball England’s Return to Play guidance.
Although it is frustrating for all, the health, safety and well-being of all our members is our main priority, so it is imperative that we adhere to the Government’s new restrictions during this time.
As soon as is practically possible we will be back on the court and the season will get started.
Please do keep an eye on the website and club Instagram/Facebook pages, as we will keep you updated as we get more information.
Stay safe and well and we look forward to seeing you all again on Wednesday 2nd December 2020, from 18:00.
